Justin Bieber's "Baby," his 2010 breakout single, has officially reached 1 billion views on Vevo. Bieber is the youngest artist to achieve this milestone, which also makes "Baby" the streaming platform's most-watched clip ever and the only video to be certified 10x across Vevo, a similar feat as a gold or platinum certification by the RIAA.
The video for "Baby" joins six other Bieber clips -- "Never Say Never," "One Time," "Somebody To Love," "Never Let You Go," "One Less Lonely Girl," "Love Me" -- as Vevo's inaugural "certified" class when the 100 million mark was announced in 2012. Since then, Bieber has racked up a total of 11 certified Vevo videos.
This achievement was due in large part to the Beliebers, who made a concerted effort across social media last week to get enough views that the video reached 1 billion views while the singer was still a teenager (his 20th birthday is March 1). It's also a welcome bit of good news for the singer, who recently pleaded not guilty to allegations of DUI, drag-racing, resisting arrest, and driving with an expired license in Miami Beach in January.
