The Terence Trent D'Arby cover will appear on "Symphonica," out March 17
A few weeks after announcing a new album for this March, George Michael is back with its first single.
The former Wham! singer debuted "Let Her Down Easy" on Magic Radio UK today (Feb. 3), marking the first new single from Michael since 2012's non-album single "White Light."
The subdued, piano-driven ballad is a cover, originally recorded by Terence Trent D'Arby. The original peaked at No. 18 in the U.K. upon its 1993 release.
Michael also posted a video teaser of the tune to his YouTube account.
"Symphonica," Michael's first album of new material since 2004, is due for release March 17. It will feature original material in addition to covers, such as Nina Simone's "My Baby Just Cares for Me." Phil Ramone co-produced the record before his death last year.
His last album, "Patience," peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 and featured the song "Flawless (Go to the City)," a No. 1 in America on the Hot Dance Club Songs chart.
