Musicians will perform concerts and DJ sets during film festival
The music scene at Sundance continues to firm up. Belle & Sebastian will perform a concert after the premiere of group leader Stuart Murdoch’s film “God Help the Girl,” Golden Globe winner Alex Ebert and Kaskade (“All is Lost”) will perform DJ sets and Sondre Lerche, Wild Cub, Dan Deacon and Carmen Rizzo will join the Fela! Band in a performance sponsored by public radio station KCRW.
Belle & Sebastian will play a live show on Jan. 20 at the festival’s Music Café. Festival sponsor Airbnb and Sundance Institute are sponsoring the concert; the after-party and DJ set will be held at the Airbnb Haus.
Talent from the film “Low Down” -- Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea and composer Ohad Talmor -- will perform at "A Celebration of Music in Film" on Jan. 19 at Sundance House Presented by HP. The Fela! Band and Rae Spoon from the documentary-musical “My Prairie Home” will also perform at the event, which will be hosted by the Sundance Institute Film Music Program.
The KCRW shows, taking place from 9:30 p.m. to midnight at the Acura Prism at Main and Heber, are: on Jan. 17, DJ sets from Anne Litt, Chris Douridas and Mathieu Schreyer; on Jan. 18, performances by Wild Cub, Sondre Lerche and Dan Deacon; and on Jan. 20, Carmen Rizzo and The Fela! Band.
Jason Bentley, Kaskade and Ebert will DJ from the balcony of Zoom restaurant from 4 to 6 p.m. on Jan. 18.
