Rapper Kanye West has been added to the lineup for this weekend's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., bestowing further star power on an event that will also boast the first-ever festival appearance by Madonna as well as sets from Depeche Mode, Tool, Franz Ferdinand, Daft Punk and Massive Attack.

West will perform Saturday (April 30) on the main outdoor stage directly after fellow rapper Common, whose 2005 album, "Be," he produced and released on his own G.O.O.D. Music label.

West will return to southern California the following weekend to appear at KIIS-FM’s annual Wango Tango concert in Los Angeles.

Coachella organizers have also revealed the set times and stage breakdowns for this year’s show. Madonna will perform just after 8 p.m. Sunday in the dance-dominated Sahara Tent, and no act is scheduled opposite her on the main outdoor stage at that time.
