Canadian rock act the Dears is eyeing an August release for its next spinART album, "Gang of Losers." One new track, "Fear Made the World Go Round," can be streamed through the weekend from the band's MySpace.com site.

"As cliched as this may sound, it's by far the 'best work we've ever done,'" frontman Murray Lightburn writes on the site. "It is somewhat of a stripped down, raw affair. There is French horn in two songs and saxophone in another. Though there is some Mellotron-ny stuff, there are no real violins, violas or cellos. I guess that means that we're no longer 'orchestral.'"

The group will be road-testing new material during its summer shows, beginning May 22 at Ottawa's Tulip Festival. Lightburn says a full Canadian tour is on tap for September.

"We've been trying out the new stuff in rehearsal and though the first couple of times were pretty brutal, we are finally starting to sound like a band again," he says.

Here is the track list for "Gang of Losers":

"Sinthintro"
"Ticket to Immortality"
