Billboard Bits: Danger Doom, Underworld, 'Weird' Al

News on Danger Doom, Underworld, 'Weird' Al

Danger Doom's collaboration with Cartoon Nework's Adult Swim continues with the release of a new EP for free exclusively through AdultSwim.com. The first track, "Corn Dogs," will be released Monday (May 15), with eight more tracks and skits to be released each week thereafter.

The group, which comprises MF Doom and Danger Mouse, are currently finishing the tracks for the as-yet-unnamed set. The cuts will feature the voices from Adult Swim shows like "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" and "Minoriteam."

Danger Doom's debut full-length, "The Mouse and the Mask," was released late last year via Epitaph and peaked at No. 41 on The Billboard 200. As previously reported, MF Doom is back in the studio with Madlib for another Madvillain release.

Underworld will stage a Webcast from its Lemonworld Studio on Saturday (May 13), during which it will play new material and reveal details about the third installment in its
Riverrun series of digital downloads. The electronica act is also expected to update fans on the status of its next studio album, its first since splitting with longtime label V2.

The show can be seen on UnderworldLive.com and via Dutch radio/TV station VPRO's terrestrial and digital network.

Although it ran for just 13 episodes between 1997-8, "The Weird Al Show" developed a healthy cult following among fans of enduring song parodist "Weird" Al Yankovic. The series will finally be released on DVD Aug. 15 via Shout! Factory, complete with commentary from Al himself for each episode and guest commentaries from cast members such as Emo Phillips and Judy Tenuta.

The DVDs will be rounded out by original art galleries, animation storyboards and a karaoke version of the show's theme song. Yankovic is currently off the road but has completed the follow-up to his last studio album, 2003's "Poodle Hat." The set is expected for a summer release via Volcano.
