Like winner Taylor Hicks, "American Idol" season five runner-up Katharine McPhee, has signed to Simon Fuller's 19 Recordings Limited and RCA. The 22-year-old's interpretations of "Over the Rainbow" and the Harry Sommerdahl/Hanne Sorvaag/Time Baxter-penned "My Destiny" will comprise her first single, due June 27 digitally and in stores.

Another song from the California native, a cover of Aretha Franklin's' "Think," was made available two weeks ago on the "American Idol Season 5: Encores" (RCA) compilation. The set bowed last week at No. 3 on The Billboard 200.

According to reports, an estimated 36.4 million people tuned in to the May 24 "Idol" finale, the third biggest audience draw this year behind the Super Bowl and the Academy Awards.
