Feist will release an album of remixed and rare tracks from her Arts & Crafts debut "Let It Die" July 18 via Cherry Tree/Interscope. "Open Season" will also contain three previously unreleased songs: "Snowlion" featuring ReadymadeFC, "Simple Story" featuring Jane Birkin and "Tout Doucement."

"At first I didn't really understand what remixes were," Feist says. "If I squinted into the air I knew I could hear old songs with beats put to them piping out of radios, but didn't know why or how that happened. "

On the album, the Postal Service, VV, Mocky and k-os try their hand at Feist's single "Mushaboom," while both Do Right and One Room One Hour rework "Gatekeeper." Also featured is a cover of "Inside and Out" (itself a cover of the Bee Gees' "Love You Inside and Out") by labelmate Apostle Of Hustle and Gonzales' solo piano rendition of "One Evening."

Frequent Broken Social Scene collaborator Feist is currently writing and recording the follow-up to 2004's "Let It Die."

"By a fluke of circumstances, 'Let It Die' ended up being half originals and half covers," Feist told Billboard.com in January. "And the originals are the ones I found some real threads to hold onto over the last two years of touring and they have never fallen off by the wayside and ended up on the set list floor. And so probably songs like 'Let It Die' and 'Gatekeeper' and 'Mushaboom' -- the ones that I wrote -- I think have similarities with what is destined to come for the next record."

Feist slated to perform at Central Park SummerStage in New York on June 25 and at the Lollapalooza, Bumbershoot and Austin City Limits music festivals in the coming weeks.
