St. Louis rapper Chingy has set Sept. 12 as the release date for his third album, "Hoodstar." The Slot-A-Lot/Capitol set boasts production by Jermaine Dupri, Pauly Paul, Timbaland, Trak Starz and Kwame.

Three 6 Mafia, Choppa and Chingy's cousin Spiffy are among the guest artists expected to appear. The Dupri-produced lead single "Pullin' Me Back" featuring Tyrese is currently No. 26 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart.

Among the other songs set for inclusion on "Hoodstar" are "Nike Aurrs and Crispy Tees," "Bounce That Thang Girl" ("It's booty-shaking music, of course," Chingy told Billboard.com in December) and "You's a Freak" ("The beat is hot," he enthused).

"Hoodstar" is the follow-up to 2004's "Powerballin'," which peaked at No. 10 on The Billboard 200 and has sold more than 593,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Chingy has also completed work on the film "The System Within," but no theatrical release date has yet been confirmed. "It's like an urban street life movie," he told Billboard.com. "I play a guy named Nick, a little street thug."
