Minneapolis buzz band Tapes 'N Tapes plans to spend the next several months on tour in support of its debut album, "The Loon," which was initially self-released but will see much wider distribution beginning July 25 via XL Recordings.

"I think the goal right now is to keep on touring through the fall, and then hopefully in the winter we'll get back in the studio and start working on another record," vocalist/guitarist Josh Grier tells Billboard.com. "Because by that time, we'll all have been playing the same songs for a good year-and-a-half and we'll be ready for some new stuff."

Following appearances at the Siren Music Festival in New York on Saturday (July 15) and a short U.S. run with the Futureheads, Tapes 'N Tapes will cross the Atlantic for the U.K.'s Reading and Leeds festivals and the Electric Picnic gathering in Ireland. The tentative plan calls for additional European touring in October and November.

"The record's out and you kind of have to strike while the iron is hot," Grier says. "Especially now that it's getting larger distribution and will be out in Europe."

Despite the hectic schedule, the band has found time to begin developing new ideas. "We have a couple new songs that are almost ready for us to actually play out and about, but they still need a few tweaks," Grier says. "We were running one in soundcheck pretty much all of last tour, and it's getting closer. There's definitely new material, and hopefully we'll get some time when we're all in town to actually start fleshing it out as a band."

Last weekend, the group shot a video for album track "Cowbell" in Minneapolis with director Carolyn London. Earlier this week, Tapes 'N Tapes' first single, "Insistor," was released in the United Kingdom.
