Arctic Monkeys Announce North American Tour

Arctic Monkeys are coming across the pond to the U.S. later this year for a 24-date North American tour.

The trek, which kicks off with a two-date residency in Vancouver according to Radio.com, marks the indie rockers' first U.S. tour since the release of the band's fifth album, "AM." The LP hit No. 6 in America on the Billboard 200 upon its Sept. 10 release, selling 42,000 copies in its first week -- the band's best U.S. sales week so far.

The album also hit No. 1 in the band's native United Kingdom, becoming the first independent label act to place its first five albums atop the UK Albums Chart.

The band will first appear south of the Canadian border on Dec. 3 in Seattle and will conclude the set with a Feb. 14 show in Minneapolis, Minn. Fellow indie rockers Deerhunter will support the band during its dates at Boston's Agganis Arena (Feb. 6) and New York's Madison Square Garden (Feb. 8).
