Christie's Offering Andy Warhol Collection in Online Auction
Andy Warhol enthusiasts and art collectors, take note: Christie's has a new auction that might be of interest.
Starting today (Oct. 16), the U.K.-based auction house has for sale over 120 photographs, drawings and prints that the legendary artist created, including works involving Mick Jagger, Jimmy Buffett, Olivia Newton-John, Dolly Parton and more.
The online-only auction, titled Andy Warhol@Christie's: The Entertainers, runs through Oct. 30 and features many works that have starting bids of $1,000, putting certain pieces within the grasp of more casual fans as well as serious collectors.
Proceeds from the sale go toward The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, which produces grants supporting artists and non-profit arts organizations.
