Hibernating indie rock act Chavez will be celebrated this fall with the two-CD/one-DVD set "Better Days Will Haunt You." Due Oct. 10 via Matador, the package rounds up both of the group's studio albums, "Gone Glimmering" and "Ride the Fader" plus the previously unreleased track "White Jeans," with newly recorded vocals.

Also featured are B-sides from the "Repeat the Ending" single, the 1995 EP "Pentagram Ring," "Little 12 Toes" from the 1996 "Schoolhouse Rock!" compilation and "Theme From 'For Russ'" from 1997's "What's Up Matador" collection.

The DVD includes videos for "Unreal Is Here" and "Break Up Your Hand" as well as the documentary "Boys Making Music ... Music Making Men," recorded during a 1996 European tour with Guided By Voices. The latter features commentary from Hollywood directing legend Garry Marshall.

Chavez, which was led by vocalist/guitarist Matt Sweeney, has not been active since the late 1990s, but has played occasional shows in recent years. The group plans to reunite for select performances in support of "Better Days Will Haunt You."
