In what is being hyped as one of the biggest double-bills ever to tour Down Under, Nine Inch Nails and Queens Of The Stone Age will roll into Australia and New Zealand next year for a co-headlining tour.
The first headline band on stage each night will be decided by the toss of a coin, promoter Frontier Touring Company announced today.
Joining the eight-date arena tour as a “special guest” is Brody Dalle, the Australian born singer who fronted early-2000s alternative rockers Distillers. Dalle is married to QOTSA frontman Josh Homme.
The tour was something of an open-secret. Both bands had dropped hints on Twitter of late, posting an image with their names written upside-down against a map of Australia.

NIN and QOTSA are still in huge demand Australia, and they’re arguably as popular now as they’ve ever been. Nine Inch Nail's comeback “Hesitation Marks” opened at No. 3 on the Australian albums chart this year, giving Trent Reznor’s industrial rockers their first top three result here since 1999’s “The Fragile.” Queens of the Stone Age's “Like Clockwork” became their first Australian No. 1 back in June.
The eight-date arena tour kicks off March 6 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, and wraps March 22 at the CBS Canterbury Arena in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The general ticket onsale starts Oct. 24, while Frontier members have earlier access to tickets from Oct. 22.
