The as-yet-untitled set will be the follow-up to 2004's "This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)," which debuted at No. 8 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 692,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The set will be produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette," who has helmed the boards for the group's two previous records. Tentative song titles include "Humanoid," "Straight Jacket Fashion" and "One Cell."

Elton John is poised to set a new record for the greatest number of performances at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. Promoters Michael Chugg Entertainment today (Oct. 4) announced a third Sydney show on his "Captain & The Kid" tour for Dec. 1. It will be the British superstar's 40th date at the 12,400-capacity venue. John is already booked to play there on Nov. 28 and 29.
The record-breaking tally, made over 12 concert tours, represents a gross of A$36 million ($27 million), says Michael Jacobsen, CEO of Arena Management, which operates the 23 year old venue. "Elton is the highest grossing act ever for the Entertainment Centre," Jacobsen told Billboard.com. "We greatly value his loyalty to the venue over the course of his visits to Sydney.
The previous record of 39 shows was set in 2003 by veteran local singer John Farnham on his "The Last Time" tour for Talentworks.

Irish rock act the Frames will release their sixth album, "The Cost," Feb. 20 in North America via Anti-. The set, which was released internationally last month, was produced by onetime Frames guitarist David Odlum.
The Frames are winding down an Irish tour with shows tomorrow (Oct. 5) and Friday in Cork and Saturday in Limerick. Afterward, frontman Glen Hansard will tour North America with his side band the Swell Season, beginning Oct. 12 in Arlington, Va.
