Pete Doherty-led U.K. rock outfit Babyshambles has inked with Capitol Records in North America, which will release an EP from the group next spring, Billboard.com has learned. Babyshambles' debut album, "Down in Albion," was issued domestically in January by Rough Trade and has sold 8,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Doherty, whose drug-related legal issues have been tabloid fodder in the United Kingdom in recent years, can be heard on a new version of the Streets' "Prangin' Out," which originally appeared on the group's latest album, "The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living."
