British singer and actress Marianne Faithfull has fully recovered from breast cancer and plans to resume her postponed world tour in Budapest in the spring.

The 59-year-old '60s icon, who dated Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger before sliding into heroin addiction, said the experience of having breast cancer had been "extraordinary."

"It has been an extraordinary experience and, in many ways, extremely positive," she said in a statement. "I didn't realize how many true friends I had."

Faithfull was diagnosed with cancer in September, forcing her to postpone her world tour due to start in October in Paris and ending in London in December. A spokesperson said the disease had been caught at a very early stage, and that "she is making a rapid return to full health."

Faithfull recently appeared in Sofia Coppola's "Marie Antoinette" in the role of the eponymous heroine's mother.
