Although details are scant at deadline, Pearl Jam has recorded a cover of the Who's "Love, Reign O'er Me" for the upcoming Adam Sandler/Don Cheadle film "Reign Over Me." A snippet of the recording can be heard in the trailer for the film, which opens March 9 in U.S. theaters. It is unknown if the song will appear on a soundtrack release.

Pearl Jam's most recent foray into soundtracks was "Man of the Hour," which ran over the end credits of the 2003 Tim Burton film "Big Fish."

Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" has become the first Mastertone to achieve gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America for sales of 500,000 units. The track was originally released on Carey's 1994 album "Merry Christmas," which has sold 4.7 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

As for "All I Want for Christmas Is You," the song recently reappeared on the Billboard charts; it is No. 9 this week on Billboard's Hot Digital Tracks chart.

Country act Trick Pony will record its final album on stage tomorrow (Dec. 13) at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville. The group will play three separate shows at the venue, where it first began attracting attention in Nashville a decade ago and where it eventually signed a deal with Warner Bros.

Trick Pony's last studio album was 2005's "R.I.D.E.," which was issued by Curb. Vocalist Heidi Newfield has already announced plans to begin working on her solo debut next year.
