Icona Pop's 'I Love It' Gets a Cookie Monster Spoof

The "Sesame Street" Muppet has redone the breakthrough hit as an ode to self-control.

Cookie Monster is learning a little self-control when it comes to his favorite snack food.

The folks at "Sesame Street" have just released a video in which the Muppet spoofs Icona Pop's hit song "I Love It."

Cookie's version is titled "Me Want It (But Me Wait)." In the song, he sings: "When me lose control, when me on the brink, need to just calm down, me need to stop and think. Me need control me self, yeah that's the way to live, and then me functioning, like an executive. Me wait, me want it, but me wait."

There's even a hashtag referenced in honor of the song: #ControlMeself.

But, alas, even Cookie Monster can't hold out for too long. Once the song ends, he declares: "OK me waited long enough. Cooookieeee!"

It's not the first time Cookie Monster's paid tribute to a popular song: last year, he re-did Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" as the snack-centric "Share It Maybe."
