Good Charlotte has selected the Avenged Sevenfold collaboration "The River" as the first single from its upcoming fourth studio album, "Good Morning Revival." Due March 20 via Epic, the set also includes the track "Keep Your Hands Off My Girl," which was made available on the group's MySpace.com site this fall.
"It sounds like Good Charlotte," frontman Joel Madden told Billboard.com matter-of-factly in September about the Don Gilmore-produced album. "It sounds older. We sound more comfortable." But, he added, it allows follows the ambitious and experimental path the group took on its last album, 2004's "The Chronicles of Life and Death."
"I think it's definitely in line with that," Madden said. "We definitely took a lot more steps forward. We went way left, though; it sounds way different. It's melodic. It's upbeat. It's kind of dance-y at some times. I think it's still very ambitious for us."
Avenged Sevenfold members M. Shadows and Synyster Gates appear in the video for "The River," which was shot last week in Los Angeles with director Marc Webb. A tour in support of "Good Morning Revival" will get underway around the album's release.
