Is Madonna Targeting Guy Ritchie on New Song 'I Don't Give A'?
The Material Mom appears to be Pulling A Swift by taking swipes at an ex in a new song, "I Don't Give A," off her upcoming album, "MDNA." Her apparent target: former husband Guy Ritchie, whom she divorced in 2008 after eight years of marriage.
Check out these lyrics, via the New York Post: "I tried to be a good girl/I tried to be your wife/Diminished myself/And I swallowed my light/I tried to become all/That you expect of me/And if it was a failure/I don't give a [bleep]."
Madonna and Ritchie share custody of sons Rocco Ritchie, 12, and David Banda, adopted from Malawi in 2008. The Sherlock Holmes director welcomed a son with girlfriend Jacqui Ainsley last September; Madonna is mother to Lourdes "Lola" Leon, 15, with ex-boyfriend Carlos Leon.
"MDNA" drops March 26 following a promotional lead-up including a massive Super Bowl halftime performance and the release of the new singles "Girl Gone Wild" and "Give Me All Your Luvin.'" Her publicist, Liz Rosenberg, declined THR's request for comment on those seemingly Guy-inspired lyrics on "I Don't Give A."
"She has not explained the lyrics and if they are about someone specifically," said Rosenberg, adding: "I appreciate that people will speculate."
