Britney and Katy demolished the competition, Adele kept her hot streak alive, and Eminem extinguished a "Firework": Round 3 of Billboard.com's Hot 100 March Madness produced a one-of-a-kind Final Four, with a quartet of No. 1 Hot 100 singles moving on from the field of 32. With the third round of head-to-head match-ups completed and only four songs left, it's time for some more voting!
To help determine the winner of Hot 100 March Madness, check out the updated bracket of songs, and vote for your favorites in the head-to-head match-ups below.
The original bracket was comprised of the 32 most recent songs to top the Hot 100 chart. The match-ups within the bracket were determined by the dates in which each song topped the Hot 100: the most recent No. 1, fun.'s "We Are Young," is matched up against the 32nd most recent No. 1, Rihanna's "Rude Boy," and so on. On Tuesday (Mar. 27), we'll reveal the 2 songs that have made it into the Finals, and one last round of voting begins. On Friday, Mar. 30, a Hot 100 March Madness champion -- the No. 1 single that you think is the best smash hit of the past two years -- will be crowned.
Looking back at the third round of voting, Bruno Mars suffered a pair of defeats, as his solo single "Just The Way You Are" ran into Britney Spears' juggernaut hit and his B.o.B collaboration "Nothin' On You" had to face Katy Perry's dreamy smash. 62% of fans voted for "Hold It Against Me" and pushed it into the Final Four, while a whopping 65% of fans picked "Teenage Dream" over Bobby Ray's hip-hop anthem.
On the other hand, Katy Perry's "Firework" fizzled out against Eminem and Rihanna's "Love The Way You Lie," in the tightest of the four races in the third round. 52% of fans chose Em's 2010 single over Perry's third offering from her sophomore disc "Teenage Dream." Meanwhile, Adele's "Set Fire To The Rain" earned a more decisive victory after barely squeaking by Pink's "Raise Your Glass" in the second round. The third single from "21" earned 53% of votes when pitted against Rihanna's "Only Girl (In The World)," eliminating Rih Rih's last solo single from the competition -- but the Barbadian star still has a shot to share the crown with Eminem, of course.
So who will make it to the finals? Is Britney vs. Katy inevitable? Can the feisty "Fire" of Adele overcome its toughest test yet? Will Eminem put another Katy Perry hit to bed? Vote now for your favorite tracks below, and be sure to discuss the Final Four in the comments section!
