Dirty Projectors Put a New Spin on the Hits for Energized Brooklyn Show

Idiosyncratic indie rockers the Dirty Projectors have remained relatively silent since the promotion behind their 2009 disc "Bitte Orca" ended, but the group has reemerged with "Gun Has No Trigger," the first taste of their forthcoming studio album. The group posted the song on their website on Friday afternoon (Mar. 30).

"Hey y'all We at it again A desert eagle and a black MAC-10 But wait, hold up: The Gun Has No Trigger," the band wrote on its website, paraphrasing a G-Unit song. According to Pitchfork, the DPs' latest full-length is due out later this spring, and the band was recently confirmed to play the Pitchfork Music Festival in July.

The group's critically acclaimed last effort, "Bitte Orca," has sold 85,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Since its release, the Dirty Projectors have collaborated with Bjork and David Byrne.
