Scantlin was also charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance and driving without a license -- both misdemeanor charges. The 39-year-old guitarist pled not guilty and is due back in court this week, possibly facing more than four years in jail if convicted.
Puddle of Mudd has recently been in the studio recording a sixth original studio album. Their last album, 2011's "re:(disc)overed," was a compilation of iconic rock covers.
