M.I.A. Making Music For Assange TV Show

M.I.A. is composing original music for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's new television show.

The controversial musician, who earned attention for her upraised middle finger during her Super Bowl performance with Madonna and Nicki Minaj, will be contributing to Assange's "The World Tomorrow," which will air on Russian station RT. The show's premiere will bow April 17.

In March, M.I.A. tweeted to @wikileaks, "Dear Julien , just finished the your musical score but im nervous about sending via internet could you send a bike?" adding this week that Assange had borrowed her computer.

Bits of a new instrumental appear in a trailer for the show. Assange, under house arrest, has reportedly filmed 12 episodes so far.

The team-up seems like a natural fit -- last year, M.I.A. punned on Assange's subversive endeavor with the "Vicki Leekx" mixtape. Her fourth studio album is expected this summer.
