Listen To Passion Pit's Lively New Single, 'Take A Walk'
The electro-pop maestros of Passion Pit will return with their sophomore effort, "Gossamer," on July 24, and for now, the group has bestowed its fans with its lead single, "Take a Walk."
Like "Little Secrets," a standout track from Passion Pit's 2009 debut "Manners," "Take a Walk" pairs an offbeat lyrical conceit with upbeat synth lines and an engaging hook. This time, singer Michael Angelakos rhapsodizes about lost pensions and family struggles during the recession, singing, "I watch my little children, play some board game in the kitchen/And I sit and pray they never feel my strife."
Passion Pit have already mapped out a North American tour to support the follow-up to "Manners," which has sold 285,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. After performing at summer fests like Lollapalooza and Outside Lands, the group will share a bill with Hot Chip at the Hollywood Bowl on Sept. 9.
