Ed Sheeran Announces U.S. Headline Tour

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has already conquered his native Britain, having topped the charts and earning a multi-platinum album. Now with his debut effort, "+," set to hit U.S. shores on June 12, the Elektra artist has announced plans for his first North American headline tour.

The "VH1 You Oughta Know Tour with Ed Sheeran" officially begins Sept. 19 in Boston and extends to major cities including New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles, before wrapping up Oct. 6 in Seattle (see dates below).

Presale tickets will be available to members of Sheeran's online community beginning June 5th. Fans can also get early tickets through a pre-order offer of his album. All remaining tickets will then go on sale on June.

Ed Performs "The A Team" Live

Sheeran, honored at this year's Brit Awards as British breakthrough act and British solo male artist, reached No. 17 on the Folk Albums chart in March with his EP "The A-Team." In April, the title track debuted at No. 30 on the Triple A adult alternative radio airplay chart. The five-song collection sets up the U.S. debut of his proper full-length, "+" (pronounced "plus"), a No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart for three weeks last year.

The "You Need Me I Don't Need You" singer will make a pair of release-day TV appearances on June 12, including the "Today" show and VH1's "Big Morning Buzz Live." He's also performing two sold-out shows on June 11 and 12 in New York.

VH1's "You Oughta Know" franchise began in 2004 and has ushered in numerous future stars including Bruno Mars, Foster the People, Mumford & Sons and Amy Winehouse.
