Little Dragon Talk New Music, Hip-Hop Collaborations at Bonnaroo
As indie rock group Little Dragon's latest road stint supporting 2011 album "Ritual Union" winds down, the group is planning to mix in a few inspired collaborations while conceptualizing their next album.
Aside from working with Big Boi on a track that may appear on the rapper's forthcoming solo album, Little Dragon might be collaborating with a hip-hop veterans De La Soul. "Other than that, we don't really seek out full collaborations. We still feel like we're collaborating with each other," drummer Erik Bodin told Billboard while he and singer Yukini Nagano hung out at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival on Friday (June 8).
Little Dragon just toured South America for the first time, and Nagano says that the band is "gonna keep playing festivals in the summer, and this fall coming, we're just gonna only write -- no shows -- so we're really looking forward to that." The group typically writes while at home in Sweden, and will do so again for their fourth studio album this fall. "We haven't figured it out yet really, how to let it not be such a time-consuming thing to set up a mobile studio," adds Bodin. "Plus, I think it's good to fill up your reservoir of music and emotions when you're traveling."
Little Dragon's Friday performance at Bonnaroo was among the 10 best sets Billboard.com scoped out at this year's festival. Check out the full list of the best of Bonnaroo 2012.
