Linkin Park, "Powerless"
"Abe Lincoln" opens on June 22 and will mark at least the third Linkin Park song presented via a branded tie-in prior to the album's release. "Burn it Down" was premiered on TNT's advertisements for the NBA and then included in a Lotus Formula 1 iPad app. "Lies, Greed, Misery" was released as the prize at the end of a scavenger hunt.
Linkin Park is also expected to be part of an Xbox Live promotion scheduled to begin on June 19. They're involvement is being kept under wraps.
On the 19th, the band will also participate in Rio+Social, a global conversation that will explore the intersection of social media, technology and sustainable development. Band members will join Rio+Social from Los Angeles to discuss the power of music, gaming and social media to address pressing sustainability challenges around the world.
Linkin Park will also give a performance that will be live-streamed at Warner Music Group's YouTube channel, the Warner Sound. The concert begins 1:30 p.m. PT/4:30 p.m. ET.
The United Nations Foundation, Mashable, 92nd Street Y, Ericsson, Energias de Portugal(EDP) and LiveAD are the event's organizers.
Linkin Park launched Power the World to provide energy access to 1 million families this year through the band's non-profit organization Music for Relief.
