"I'm very excited to join forces with InsideOut Music," Tate said in a statement. "They are very committed to progressive music and care deeply for their artists, working together with them to bring music lovers worldwide some of the most compelling rock music available."
InsideOut Music founder Thomas Waber also said in the statement, "Obviously, we at the label have been fans of Geoff for a long time. We are looking forward to working with such a renowned musician -- welcome to the InsideOut Music family!"
Tate's first release for InsideOut Music is scheduled for the fall. The label's roster includes such progressive metal stars as Fates Warning, Steve Hackett, King's X and Dream Theater frontman singer James LaBrie.
As Billboard.com exclusively reported June 20, Tate's departure from Queensryche was announced after several weeks of speculation that the band was experiencing internal conflicts.
According to the statement Queensryche issued when it announced Tate's departure, scheduled band performances "are on hold at [the] present time and revised routing is being worked on. Fans can check the band's website for all of the latest tour information as it [becomes] available." The group intends to soon enter the studio to record with new singer Todd LaTorre.
Tate is scheduled to perform on the Shiprocked Cruise that sets sail Nov. 27 for the Bahamas.
