Dead Oceans Latest Label to Join Drip.fm Subscription Service

Indie label Dead Oceans is the latest to join a growing group offering releases via Drip.fm.

The new platform, spearheaded by label Ghostly International, offers labels the opportunity to share new digital releases and archival recordings for a fixed monthly fee.

Dead Oceans will offer three albums with an initial subscription: The Tallest Man on Earth's "There No Leaving Now," A Place to Bury Strangers' "Worship," and Gauntlet Hair's self-titled debut. It will then share "at least" two albums a month with customers, available as high-quality streams or downloads. The label has not announced a start date or a price, though other labels using the service set the cost at $10 a month.

Dead Oceans' roster includes Akron/Family, Bowerbirds, Bear In Heaven and others. It's a sister label to fellow indies Jagjaguwar and Secretly Canadian.

Other labels offering similar subscriptions via Drip.fm include Stones Throw, which joined in January, and Domino.
