Joss Stone's "The Soul Sessions Vol. 2" is full of soul deep cuts, but the album also includes at least one left-field cover: "The High Road," a track from electro-indie act Broken Bells. Replacing the song's Danger Mouse-produced sheen with electric guitars, piano and her signature vocals, Stone gives the song a soul makeover.
"I think 'High Road' is quite a different one for me," Stone previously Billboard.com. "It's still soul but it's got a darker tone to it, certainly in the beginning of the song."
A lyric video for the track is out today. "The Soul Sessions, Vol. 2," out on S-Curve Records and Stone's own Stone'd Records, is out July 31.
