| Jay-Z Adds Brooklyn Gigs, Get Tix
You probably already knew Jay-Z was opening Brooklyn's Barclay's Center with shows in September. But did you know that due to high demand, the rapper has added three more gigs (Oct 1, 5 & 6) to the run - making for eight shows total? Jay-Z, who is the director of Brooklyn Arena LLC who own Barclays, takes the stage on September 28-30 and October 1, and 3-6. Whew! Tickets for all shows go on sale today (July 13 ) via Ticketmaster. Over 7,000 tickets for each concert are under $30. Get 'em while you can!
| Janes Addiction Lolla Aftershow
Jane's Addiction, the brainchild of Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell, isn't on the festival's lineup this year, but the band has a special treat planned for fansin Chicago for the 3-day event this summer. On August 4, after Lolla's second day of music in Grant Park, Jane's will play an intimate aftershow for a few thousand lucky fans at Chi-town's Aragon Ballroom. As an added bonus, Scottish party-starters Franz Ferdinand will be the show's opener. Tickets, which are a mere $15 a pop, are available via Lollapalooza.com, where fans can also get a free download of the Jane's latest album, "The Great Escape Artist."
| Carly Rae: Album Ready This Fall
Carly Rae Jepsen fans have a lot to look forward to this fall, when the "Call Me Maybe" singer puts out her debut album and goes on tour with none other than Justin Bieber. Jepsen was also recently in New York, filming the video for her "Good Time" single with Owl City "[This summer] is going to be a pretty crazy one," she told Billboard.com at Katy Perry's Summer Beats concert in Hollywood. "I'm wrapping up my record to have it in time for fall for the album's release and the Justin tour."
| Billie Joe On Green Day's Trilogy
Not only is Green Day's next release coming out in a trilogy, but each album will have it's own unique sound. "¡Uno!" will be power-pop like the original Green Day sound, "¡Dos!" is garage-rock, similar to that of Green Day side project Foxboro Hot Tubs, and "¡Tré!" is more "reflective and internal… shooting from the midlife-crisis hip," Billie Joe Armstrong explained. "The first record is getting the party started, the second record is the party happening and the depths of hell in the party, and the third one is trying to pick up the pieces, self-reflection and the hangover," he said.
| Free "Secret" B.o.B New York Show 7/22
Will you be in New York on July 22? Do you have plans? Now you do: Myspace has announced a free secret show starring B.o.B at NYC's Highline Ballroom. Free tickets will be given away at the venue starting today (July 13) at 11am. It's first come, first serve so head down there as soon as you can! We won't tell your boss.
