Passion Pit Cancel Tour Dates
Vocalist Michael Angelakos Says He's Taking Time Off To Improve His Mental Health
Passion Pit has cancelled all upcoming July tour dates, including a set at Delaware's Firefly Music Festival, the group announced today (July 16).
Vocalist Michael Angelakos wrote in a note on the band's website, "On behalf of the band and myself, I would like to greatly apologize for the show cancelations. In order for me to ensure that there will be no further disruptions, I am going to take the time to work on improving my mental health. For now, I'd like to thank all of our fans for their understanding. I hope to see all of you very soon in a much different light."
The tour section of the group's website shows six July tour dates as cancelled, although it appears that Passion Pit will still be performing in August, including shows at Lollapalooza Aug. 2 and Aug. 3.
The group has performed a handful of shows throughout June and July, but pulled out of Sunday's Bunbury Music Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio, citing "band illness."
Passion Pit's upcoming sophomore album, "Gossamer," is due out July 24. The release's lead single, "Take a Walk," debuted in May.
