Melanie Amaro, 'X Factor' Winner, Releases Debut Single: Listen
After taking the first U.S. "X Factor" crown last December, Melanie Amaro finally released her debut single, the uptempo "Don't Fail Me Now," on Wednesday (Aug. 1).
"Don't Fail Me Now" explores Amaro's dancier side, with a club beat placed beneath a piano loop and lyrics that chronicle her rise to "X Factor" fame. "I've walked the longest road so don't fail me now, feet don't fail me now, I've never got this close so don't fail me now," she sings, displaying her powerhouse vocals.
The pop track comes courtesy of producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins and writer Livvi Franc. Christopher "Tricky" Stewart is also confirmed to be on board for upcoming Amaro material.
After winning the $5 million "X Factor" prize, Amaro is still hard at work on her Epic/Syco Records debut full-length, which will arrive this fall. The new season of "X Factor," meanwhile, premieres Sept. 12, with new judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato joining Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid.
