Coheed & Cambria Announce Double Album, Tour Dates

Post-hardcore band Coheed & Cambria announced this week that they'll follow up their 2010 album "Year of the Black Rainbow" with a double concept album, titled "The Afterman."
"The Afterman: Ascension" is slated to come out Oct. 9, with the second volume "The Afterman: Descension" to follow in February 2013. As is common practice these days, the band announced the forthcoming albums on their website, via a trailer. The black and white clip shows an astronaut setting off on a mysterious mission, asking his computer mother for guidance. A Coheed & Cambria instrumental provides the background music.
"The Afterman" marks the return of Coheed & Cambria's original drummer, Josh Eppard, who originally left the band in 2006. The band is further returning to their roots on this release by self-financing and co-producing. Michael Bimbaum and Chris Bittner, who produced Coheed & Cambria's first three albums, were also on hand in production.
