Norah Jones will kickoff the fifth season of the public TV music series "Live from the Artists Den" on Oct. 5. The Wallflowers, Rufus Wainwright and Mayer Hawthorne are among the artists that will be featured throughout the season.
The show puts artists in unique spaces that are not traditional concert venues. Jones was filmed at the Green Building in Brooklyn; Wainwright in New York City's Church of the Ascension; and Hawthorne performed in the Grand Ballroom of the Park Plaza Hotel. "It's so nice to play in a place that has a good vibe," Jones said in a statement.
Jones, a Brooklyn resident, performed for 200 invited guests in a 20-song set that included her breakthrough hit, "Don't Know Why," and her latest single, "Happy Pills." The Wallflowers debuted new songs from their forthcoming Columbia Records release.
"Live From the Artists Den" is a production of Artists Den Entertainment presented by WLIW in association with WNET New York Public Media, and is distributed by American Public Television. This year the show has expanded digitally through Hulu, Pandora and Vevo, and is now broadcast internationally in Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Israel and Latin America.
Clips from selected episodes are being posted on the Artists Den website at www.artistsden.com.
