Fiona Apple Arrested for Hash Possession
Fiona Apple was arrested Wednesday in a Texas town notorious for catching celebrities with drugs. According to TMZ, hashish and a small amount of marijuana was found on the singer's tour bus during a search in the small border town of Sierra Blanca.
The "Shadowboxer" singer was arrested for possession and was released Thursday on $10,000 bond after spending the night in Hudspeth County Jail, where Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, and "Social Network" actor Armie Hammer have all been held in the last two years.
A leaked mugshot photo shows Apple wearing striped black-and-white prison garb.
Deputies posed for pictures with Snoop Dogg after his January 2012 drug arrest, and the county commissioner took the opportunity to sing one of his original songs for Nelson when he was busted for weed in 2010. "Willie loved the song," Wayne West told the AP.
Apple performed Tuesday in Mesa, Ariz and was traveling the well-worn I-10 highway towards Austin, where she is scheduled to play tonight (Thursday).
The singer released "The Idler Wheel Is Wiser…" in June after a seven-year hiatus. It debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 -- her highest-charting album ever -- moving 72,000 copies in its first week.
