Green Day, Feist Biting into 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' Soundtrack
The final "Twilight Saga" film will feature music from Green Day, Feist and more.
"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2," which opens Nov. 16, will include Green Day's "The Forgotten" and Feist's "Fire in the Water," as well as tracks from Passion Pit, Ellie Goulding and "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" star Reeve Carney. "Twilight Saga" actress Nikki Reed will appear on a track with her husband, Paul McDonald, while Goulding's track, "Bittersweet," will feature production from boyfriend and EDM superstar Skrillex. St. Vincent, who joined Bon Iver for a song on the series' second soundtrack, will be a returning contributor, as will Christina Perri, who will revive her "Breaking Dawn" love theme with a sequel.
Green Day's track arrives amid their trio of full-length releases, but according to the band's Mike Dirnt, it was an opportunity they couldn't turn down.
"When we were asked to be part of the 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 2' soundtrack, we readily agreed because the films are an insane cultural phenomenon," Dirnt told Yahoo! Movies. "We have always been impressed with the way the 'Twilight' soundtracks are so carefully curated."
The successful soundtracks for the vampire romance franchise have been handled by Summit Entertainment, Atlantic Records and Chop Shop, the label and supervision company that curates television shows such as "Mad Men" and "Gossip Girl." The "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" soundtrack bowed at No. 4 with 105,000 copies in November 2011.
