Yo La Tengo Announces New Album & Tour Dates
Veteran indie-rock trio Yo La Tengo will release "Fade," the follow-up to their previous album "Popular Songs," on Jan. 15, 2013, through Matador. The label announced the release date for the group's 13th studio album, as well as YLT's 2013 touring schedule, on Wednesday (Nov. 14).
Yo La Tengo recorded the 10-song "Fade" in Chicago with producer John McEntire. The deluxe edition of the LP will include covers of Todd Rundgren's "I Saw The Light" and Times New Viking's "Move to California," while the digital deluxe edition will include an 11-minute, still-untitled bonus track.
The band plans to spend most of 2013 on the road, kicking off a North American trek on Jan. 23 in Carrboro, N.C., and heading to Europe on Mar. 1. In addition, Ira Kaplan, Georgia Hubley and James McNew will start their annual eight-night Hanukkah residency at Maxwell's in Hoboken, N.J. on Dec. 8.
"Popular Songs," which Matador released in September 2009, has sold 43,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
