Owl City's fourth studio album, "The Midsummer Station," hit shelves just a few months ago on August 17, but sole member Adam Young says he's already working on his next album, readying music for sometime next year.
"I'm always in the back of the tour bus with my laptop and my headphones like, 'Don't talk to me. I'm busy,' working on something new on my laptop," Young told Billboard at the 2012 Jingle Ball in Los Angeles on Monday.

"The Midsummer Station," which featured his duet with Carly Rae Jepsen, "Good Time," maintained the style of his previous releases, "Maybe I'm Dreaming," "Ocean Eyes" and 2011's "All Things Bright and Beautiful." The music he's working on now, Young said, is a little bit different.
"It's a little bit more edgy in a good way," the 26-year old musician said. "It sort of hits a little bit harder. I'm really inspired by dance music, so there's lots of trance-inspired music. I listen to a lot of trance DJs from Europe."
He added, "It's very synth heavy, obviously. It kind of grinds a little bit more in a cool way."
Coming of the success of his "Good Time" debut, Adam Young says there are several people he would like to collaborate with next, but he hasn't really had time to think out a list. One name that sticks out, however, is Ellie Goulding. "She's amazing," Young mused.
Although he's hoping to take some time off for the holidays, the rest of Young's year -- and into the first part of next year -- will primarily be spent touring. He's heading out on a run of dates with Maroon 5 and says he's hoping to take Owl City to South America in the near future.
