Two weeks after departed Paramore members Josh and Zac Farro aired their dirty laundry in a scathing blog post, singer Hayley Williams has confirmed that the band has locked in two replacements for its upcoming South American tour.
Former Tait guitarist (and brother of Paramore's Taylor York) Justin York, will take over for Josh Farro during the run, while veteran drummer Josh Freese (the Vandals, A Perfect Circle) will replace Zac Farro. Williams revealed the news to fans on Twitter on Thursday (Dec. 30), explaining that "neither Josh freese nor Justin York are joining as members, just helping us for the South American tour."
Paramore's tour, which kicks off on Feb. 16 in Brazil, follows the sudden departure of the Farro brothers and a controversial blog post attributed to Josh Farro, which claims that the band's label and management made Williams' bandmates feel like hired guns. "The band was in the dark the whole time," reads Farro's post. "After many meetings between Hayley, her manager and the labels they decided to sign her to Atlantic records. We didn't understand why Hayley was the only one signing the contract since we were told this was a 'band', but we were too young to grasp all of this."
Despite the ugly split, Williams, Taylor York and bassist Jeremy Davis are apparently pushing forward with the follow-up to their third album, 2009's "Brand New Eyes." In a later Twitter post, Williams says that York "sent me the 1st official demo for me to write lyrics to. And I am so hopeful and motivated for the future!!"
