Michael Stipe and his band of alt-rock stalwarts are back with producer Jacknife Lee, who produced R.E.M.'s previous album, "Accelerate," from 2008. This time they've brought along a number of friends, including Patti Smith, guitarist Lenny Kaye, Peaches, Eddie Vedder and Hidden Cameras frontman Joel Gibb.
