Miley Cyrus Lets Loose on Paparazzi
Miley Cyrus and mother Tish were spotted at California Chicken Cafe in West Hollywood Wednesday (Mar. 10), with the paparazzi in close pursuit. While leaving, one of the photographers bumped into Miley's mom, causing the 18-year-old to go into a verbal tirade against the man. "You just almost hurt my mom," says Cyrus. "Don't you ever even think about it. For real. That was crazy. You just hit my mom." (Ace Showbiz)
Strokes' Julian Casablancas Not Completely Satisfied With 'Angles'
The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas, declared that he's about "60 percent" satisfied with the band's highly anticipated new album, "Angles," which is set for release on March 22. "I try to keep a high standard ... I think 'collaboration Strokes' is more on the side of just poppy than what I am interested in personally," says the singer. Jean Dinning, 'Teen Angel' Songwriter, Dies at 86
Songwriter Jean Dinning, who wrote the teen tragedy hit "Teen Angel," has died. She was 86. Dinning's brother Mark performed "Teen Angel," which is about a girl who dies tragically. The song was released in October 1959 and it became an instant hit. ( AP)
Kanye West Preps 'Lights' Remix with Drake, Big Sean
Aside from working on his collaborative album with Jay-Z, "Watch the Throne," Kanye West is prepping a remix to his "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" single "All of the Lights," that will feature Drake and Big Sean, according to a tweet by DJ Franzen. "Drizzy murdered the 'All of the Lights' remix with @kanyewest,"wrote Franzen. ( MTV)
Thom Yorke Plays Surprise DJ Set At L.A. Club
Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke made an unexpected appearance last night (Mar. 9) at Low End Theory, a dubstep club in Los Angeles. The singer played a DJ set mixing songs by Modeselektor, Kraftwerk and Major Lazer, among others. The appearance comes only a few weeks before the physical release of their Radiohead's latest album, "The King Of Limbs," on March 28. (NME)
Arctic Monkeys Reveal Title of Upcoming Record
The Arctic Monkeys have announced the title of their upcoming fourth album. "Suck It and See," the follow-up to 2009's "Humbug" which was produced by Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford, will be released June 7 in the U.S. via Domino Records, according to the band's website. ( Pitchfork)
