A week after making her first public statement since entering rehab in January, teen star Demi Lovato reactivated her Twitter account (@ddlovato) yesterday (Mar. 15) to thank her 2.6 million followers for their support.
"I love you guys SO MUCH... this support is UNBELIEVABLE!! I'm tearing up I'm so thankful..." Lovato wrote on Twitter, shortly after shooting off the playful note "Guess who's baaaaaaaack...!!!!!!!" Media personalities like Kim Kardashian and Perez Hilton voiced their support for her return to Twitter, and Lovato later posted the quote, "Achievement comes to those who are willing to walk as far as it takes till you get to what few have."
Beginning in January, the singer/actress spent two months in a treatment facility for "emotional and physical issues" that reportedly included an eating disorder and self-mutilation. In a video posted last Monday, Lovato says that she is "excited to get back to work" after overcoming "probably the darkest time in my life," and says that she hopes to someday raise awareness to help others dealing with similar issues.
A new video on Cambio.com finds Lovato showcasing a new tattoo on her wrist, which reads "Stay Strong" and is dedicated to her fans. "I wanted to show you guys that I will never forget the support you guys gave me," says Lovato, "and I will look at it every day and remember you guys and be completely thankful for you."
