Deion Jenkins, the 14-year-old half-brother of Soulja Boy, was killed in a car accident on Sunday (Mar. 21) in Charleston, Mississippi. A rep for the 20-year-old rapper confirms to Billboard.com that Jenkins was a passenger in the fatal accident, but could not confirm any other information related to the crash.
Earlier today, Soulja Boy (real name: DeAndre Way) posted on Twitter, "at home crying my eyes out I can't believe my Lil bro is gone... today is so not my day.. RIP lil brother love you always :(." Michael "Miami Mike" Sykes, the President of Soulja Boy's Stacks on Deck Money Gang label, also wrote that "the Flags are @ Half Staff @ the Offices of SODMG & PTE, R.I.P. to @Souljaboy little brother who passed-way in a auto crash last nite :-(."
The tragic death occurs four months after Soulja Boy returned with his third LP, "The DeAndre Way," which has sold 66,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. The rapper released "1UP," a free 20-track mixtape, online last Thursday.
