Blondie to Release First Album Since 2003
Iconic new-wavers Blondie will release "Panic of Girls," their first album since 2003's "The Curse of Blondie," with a UK release scheduled for June 1. Founding members Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, and Clem Burke and new members Tommy Kessler and Matt Katz-Bohen will appear on the record, in addition to Beirut's Zach Condon on a cover of the Beirut track "Sunday Smile." Marc Anthony To Tour U.S. In Fall
Tickets for Marc Anthony's upcoming U.S. Tour go on sale Friday, May 20 via Ticketmaster outlets. Anthony will kick off his nine-date U.S. stint Sept. 1 at the State Fair Grounds in Minneapolis and will continue an all-arena trek that ends at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles Sept. 24.
Tupac's Birthday To Be Celebrated With Concert Feat. Erykah Badu
The 40th birthday of seminal rapper Tupac Shakur will be celebrated with a concert featuring performances from Erykah Badu, Bun B, Roy Ayers, Eric Roberson, DJ Drama, Too Short, 8 Ball and MJG. Comedian Mike Epps, in collaboration with Tupac's mother Afeni Shakur, will host the third annual birthday celebration, to be held June 16 at the Atlanta Symphony Hall.
Duran Duran Cancels UK Tour Dates
Duran Duran singer Simon Le Bon has developed a case of laryngitis, causing the pop band to postpone the first two dates -- Newcastle and Glasgow -- of its UK tour. Duran Duran's rep assures both concerts will rescheduled, with more details to come in the following days. (Spinner)
Plan B Scoops Three UK Ivor Novello Music Awards
Rapper Plan B was the big winner at this year's Ivor Novello music awards in London, carrying off three prizes. The 27-year-old from London won Songwriter of the Year as well as the Album Award for "The Defamation of Strickland Banks" while his single "She Said" scooped the Music Most Performed Work prize.
