Jordan Knight: 'Unfinished' Album Started 'As Kind of a Hobby'

Jordan Knight, lead singer of the '80's/'90's pop sensation New Kids on the Block, is showing the world that feel-good music is right for any time and at any age."There's this idea that when you turn 40, you automatically go to adult contemporary heaven," Knight jokes to Billboard.com, "but I want to try and challenge that. My heart has always been in more up-tempo music you can dance to."

"Unfinished" is available now for pre-order via iTunes and Amazon but wont' be available on iTunes until May 31. Fortunately, you can stream the album right now free, exclusively right here on Billboard.com!

Jordan Knight Returns to Dance-Pop on 'Unfinished' Solo Album

On his first studio in close to six years entitled, "Unfinished," Jordan Knight proves that you're never finished living, starting with the album title itself. "It's also about realizing that even when people count you out, even when they say you're finished, you're not." Knight says. "As long as you're alive, your life is never finished. You can always learn something new. You can always grow. You can always learn a new craft, a new art, you can always take what you do and breathe new life into it. It's a hopeful message."

To Knight, "Unfinished" feels like his first real album since his 1999 solo debut, which produced the Top 10 Hot 100 hit "Give It to You." "Unfinished" came together naturally, with a casual ease. Aside from working with singer-songwriter Colby O'Donis on the club smash, "Let's Go Higher," Knight worked with producer Mike Krompass (Nelly Furtado, Natasha Beddingfield, David Archuleta) and former collaborator, songwriter Kasia Livingston (Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, The Pussycat Dolls) for the album's title track. On the hip-hop inspired ballad, "One More Night," Knight teamped up with songwriter Nasri Atweh (Justin Bieber, Chris Brown). "You have to let go and let the flow and the emotion take you instead of always following trends because if you think too much with your head it's not heartfelt," Knight says of the creative process behind "Unfinished."
