For once, Scotty McCreery is trailing behind Lauren Alaina. Two days after the "American Idol" season 10 runner-up dropped her first video (for "Like My Mother Does"), reigning "Idol" McCreery has released his first video, for debut single "I Love You This Big." Watch below.
The country-tinged "Idol" champs, who both signed to Mercury Nashville back in June, keep it down-home in their respective videos. While Alaina's clip is peppered with home movies from her childhood, McCreery keeps things a bit more straightforward. The molasses-voiced crooner sets up for a picnic gig with his band, performs under fireworks, and inspires in-love couples to frolick.
McCreery's "I Love You This Big" video premiered Tuesday night (Aug. 9) on CMT, as part of a 15-minute special that included behind-the-scenes footage from the video shoot. Lauren Alaina's "Like My Mother Does" video premiered on Monday night during a similar special. Watch below.
McCreery may have won the hearts of "Idol" devotees, but the real question is: Which contestant has a better debut video? Vote in our poll below, or sound off in the comments section.
