Kiss frontman Paul Stanley has undergone surgery in a move to address "recurring vocal cord issues" that "come with 40 years of preaching rock n' roll," he announced Wednesday.
According to a statement from his publicist, the 59-year-old "Detroit Rock City" singer is expected to make a "swift and complete" recovery after the unspecified surgery. Stanley is also playing down the seriousness of the procedure.
"I hold myself to a higher standard than others do," he said. "With that in mind, I wanted to remedy a few minor issues that come with 40 years of preaching rock n' roll."
As he noted, Kiss have been around for four decades and are working on their 20th album, due out in 2012, and a world tour.
